Marian Shuler-Holladay, DVM Shuler Veterinary Clinic

Dr. K.C. Shuler expanded his veterinary business of Mount Pleasant Animal Hospital by building Shuler Veterinary Clinic in 1992. His son, Kevin and Kevin’s wife, Laura, became veterinarians and took over both practices in 2005 when K.C. retired.

In the spring of 2005, cousin Dr. Marian Shuler Holladay, a Georgia graduate, was brought in to run Shuler Veterinary Clinic.  A native of Mt Pleasant, she graduated from University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine in 2005. Dr. Shuler Holladay practices both medicine and surgery of small animals, and has a special interest in rehabilitation and physical therapy.  When not at the veterinary clinic, she enjoys spending time with her family and pets, singing, and taking advantage of the coastal life Charleston has to offer.

Kristine, Shuler Vet Clinic Office Manager

Kristine is the Office Manager at Shuler Veterinary Clinic. She and her husband, Greg, moved to Mt. Pleasant in December, 1996 from Dix Hills, Long Island, NY.  These Yankees quickly fell in love with Charleston! Kristine and Greg moved here with 3 cats all of which have sadly passed on over the Rainbow Bridge.  They have adopted and said goodbye to more feline friends since Kristine started working with the Shuler family in February 1997. Presently, they cohabitate with Martin, Bunny, Friday and the crazy kittens: Junior and Biggie Smalls! The kittens certainly have added a new feline dimension to our castle.  The older friends have adjusted, relatively speaking, to the new additions…some better than others. LOL! They have 2 “special needs” cat, Lil Man Dude and Francisco, living in solitude due to their FIV status.  Those boys do not get along and each has their own space.  Aside from cat wrangling, Kristine loves to work out!  If you can’t find her at Shuler Vet Clinic, look in the gym!  When there is a moment to relax, she loves to escape to the movie theater or walk the Ravenel Bridge.  Grass rarely grows under her feet.

Patrick, Shuler Veterinary Clinic Technician

Patrick was born in Windsor, Berkshire, England in 1989. Since an early age, Patrick has been drawn to two things; colorful lights and furry critters. Over the years, Patrick owned fish, hamsters, frogs, snails and the occasional lizard, before he owned his first cat, Cruton. Cruton was found at four weeks old, when Patrick was working at Kennel Care in Columbia, SC for two years. The name of Patrick’s favorite salad topping, Cruton spends her days with Patrick’s sister because his roommate is allergic. Patrick loves the outdoors and enjoys it as an avid backpacker and kayaker. He studied geology at the University of South Carolina, before moving to Charleston. Patrick enjoys singing, dancing, being energetic, and taking care of any four, three, or two legged animal that run, jump, walk, or hobble through the front door. Patrick is truly excited to be exploring the veterinary field at both Shuler Veterinary Clinic and Mount Pleasant Animal Hospital.

Julie, Shuler Vet Clinic Technician

Julie just moved to West Ashley from Columbia in October 2012 with her husband, Tony.  He accepted a job here and forced the move.  She hated to leave her job in Columbia which she loved so much, but now feels lucky she did move.  Julie has been an animal lover all her life, but did not pursue a career in the veterinary field until about 6 years ago.  It makes her very happy to know she is helping those who cannot speak.  Julie and Tony have a small mixed breed dog named Leroy.  He is a professional ballplayer and Julie’s sidekick.  They definitely plan on getting Leroy a little brother or sister very soon.  Julie loves exploring Charleston and doing activities outdoors with her husband and Leroy.
