A Starfish
There once was a little girl who lived by the ocean. She felt a sacred bond with animals. Dogs, cats, horses, dolphins... she loved them all. One day, she went to the beach with her family. There, she saw something terrible... hundreds of starfish had washed ashore. Frantically, she ran to rescue them.

All by herself, she worked through the day to carry the starfish back into the sea. Finally, as it was getting dark, her parents made her come back home. She cried; there were so many starfish she couldn't save. How could one little girl change the world?
