Emergency & Critical Care

B. Breathing
C. Circulation/Cardiac compressions
We offer expert supportive care with IV catheterization, heart monitoring, and pain medication administration while the pet is being triaged. Emergency care is offered during regular business hours. Remember, pets in pain may not realize you are trying to help them and therefore may try to bite you. Keep away from the head area or wrap the neck/head in a towel, preserving the airway, to protect you both. Try to contact us before your arrival and be prepared to answer a few brief questions to better us in assisting you when you arrive. For the most critical patients, we have a great working relationship with all of the veterinary specialists in the area. In addition, we use the services of the local, fully staffed veterinary emergency center for after hours and weekend emergencies.
The ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center (APCC) is your best resource for any animal poison-related emergency, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. If you think your pet may have ingested a potentially poisonous substance, call (888) 426-4435.
